In-network with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield
South Charlotte Nutrition is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. However, you will need to call before your appointment to verify coverage for nutrition counseling.
The first step is to call the 800-number on the back of your insurance card and ask if your health insurance plan includes outpatient nutrition counseling. Then provide them with the following CPT codes: 97802 and 97803.
If the representative asks you for a diagnosis code (also known as ICD 10 code), tell them the visit is coded with the ICD 10 code: Z71.3.
Other questions to ask include:
If your claim is denied for lack of nutrition coverage the initial consultation (60 minutes) is $180.00 and each follow-up visit (45 minutes) is $135.00. South Charlotte Nutrition accepts cash, check, HSA/FSA cards and all major credit cards.
At South Charlotte Nutrition we will provide a Superbill for clients whose insurance we are not in-network with. Whether or not you are reimbursed is dictated by what is covered by your personal insurance policy for out of network medical nutrition therapy services.
